Michael Ballack believes that former Borussia Dortmund winger Ousmane Dembele should have shown his former club a lot of respect before making the switch to Barcelona.
The Frenchman became the second most expensive player in the world after making the £ 135 million switch to Barcelona. Incredibly, he had moved to Dortmund only a year ago for 10% of this transfer fee. The possibility of the Frenchman being a Barcelona target has been rumoured for a long time, but the Catalan outfit significantly stepped up their interest in the player once it became apparent that the possibility of getting Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho was very low.
Dembele had to force in the move to Spain, as Dortmund were not prepared to sell the player. He refused to train with the club in order to set the wheels in motion for a transfer. Ultimately, Dortmund did not have much option but to sell him.
